The $25 million Gillman Honda, Mitsubishi, Subaru dealership sits on a 26-acre tract of land near the corner of US 59 South and the Sam Houston Tollway. The facility totals 260,000 sf, including a centralized 40,000 sf body shop. Its design utilizes concrete tiltwall and steel as the major structural components and incorporates architectural accents of color, EIFS, masonry and metal to complement the project's contemporary feel. Because concrete is the largest component of the facility, TAS' work was critical not only to the structural integrity of the project, but also to the visual aesthetics. In all, the facility represents 1.3 million square feet of poured concrete utilizing 510 tons of reinforcing, 19,000 cubic yards of concrete and over 45,000 man hours to complete. TAS completed the foundations, slabs and tiltwalls in record time with no accidents. In fact, Camden Builders recognized TAS as "Subcontractor of the Year" for their commitment to safety. |
