TAS Enters Brookwood Community's $300,000 Club
For 20 years golfers and volunteers have been raising
funds for Brookwood through the Annual Golf Marathon
Benefit. This year will be the 15th year TAS employees
have contributed to the event. Together with the
participation of the William Lawler/Mark Scully team,
our continuous team total exceeds $300,000, which has
put TAS in the elite Brookwood Hall of Fame.
The "100-hole" golf marathon was created in an effort
to raise critically important funds for the non-profit
community, which provides residence and life
opportunities for functionally disabled adults. Because
almost everything needed is donated, this remarkable
event is conducted with less than five percent expenses.
A full $0.95 of each dollar raised goes toward operating
expenses, scholarships and teacher salaries.
TAS' contribution really does make a difference, as
Brookwood receives no government funding of any kind.
While they are able to underwrite one-third of their
operating costs through revenue from their vocational
activities, the community depends solely on private
funding.
"I've seen first-hand the incredible influence
Brookwood has on its residents' lives," TAS President
Mark Scully said. "It's so rewarding to see the TAS
family come together to support this organization in
such a significant way."
